Window Work

So we got these new windows a over a year ago.

While I was off busting my ass for a mt. bike race, Jen got around to painting them (that's not meant to be negative in anyway - it's just the way it came out).

This was only half (at minimum) of what she got did.

She also got the mullions done too.

Now it's time to tape the trim and finish it up.

Pool Filter Cleaning

You can only backwash a pool filter so long before you have to crack the seal and completely clean it.

At least that's how it works with mine.

I should have done it sooner. It's really not so bad.

Basically loosen up the filter band that keeps the lid on, pop it off and voila!

You've got a big tank full of soggy ick!

Luckily it rinses off rather easily. The one of the left has been rinsed. The one on the right has not. You may want to click on this one for more detail.

There's all kinds of chemicals and potions you can get to do the same thing without having to actually crack open the filter, but this is really so simple I don't see the need to buy and use all the chemicals.

Once they're all rinsed (there's 8 of them).

You put them back together,

drop them in the filter and seal it up.

Done.

Good as the beginning of the season.

Almost worth doing in place of backwashing.
