The Coaster

Kind of tough to get a shot when I’m coasting too.

The whole thing’s pretty sketchy – not her coasting but my fear of her crashing and desire for her to push the limits and get better (even if it means crashing a little).

The thing about these balance bikes is they don’t have brakes. You use your feet to slow down or stop, but if you’re rolling too fast, you can’t just stop.

But who wants to slow down or stop?

Coasting and speed are fun!

Crashing is not, though crashing is a part of it.

And so I cringe while she smiles and speeds away.
