Foam’s Gone

Nothing a little Magic Lube couldn’t fix.

It was my own tired/lazy fault. I failed to use the sealant on the pump filter basket and the o-ring of my check valve. Once applied, bubbles are gone.

Getting to that point was fun. I read somewhere you can use shaving cream to find air leaks. Spread some cream around where you think it’s leaking and little v-shaped holes will appear at the leak(s). I didn’t get v-shaped holes, but I got shaving cream in the pool. Obviously it was leaking from that point.

The next part was just as fun. I popped the lid from the check valve and let the water flow. I thought it would only flow till all the water above the valve was empty, but that wasn’t the case. It flowed and flowed until I had to work on the valve in a hole full of water.

All done and sealed now. Pool is foam/bubble free and clean.

Besides this silliness, I think it’s one of the better pool openings in a while. The equipment is running quite well considering it’s age.
