Two Weeks Ago

I had this post all worked out for the weekend of the 17th, but I never got around to posting it.

Anyway, this what I can remember.

Saturday morning I got the rest of the wood pellets and got them all stacked (3 tons+ total). Abigail was a big help in that.

I really don’t know who to feel sorry for more – Abigail or any boys she may meet/date down the road. She’s either going to hate the fact that from a young age of 5 months she’s been spending time with her Dad doing laborious man type things, or she’s going to have a hard time finding a boy who has or least appreciate that she has.

After the pellets, we headed off to Brock’s first birthday party. It really was a lot of fun (certainly enough to post about 2 weeks later).

Brock’s got the perfect relaxed “surfer dude” expression I’ve ever seen (better yet, “Cool Hand Luke” or just Paul Newman). Live it up kid. This is like the first and only time you’ll get to have your cake and eat it too.

Though she didn’t get to eat any cake, Abigail did get to spend some time on the swings with Norah.

Something tells me this is probably the first of many pictures of Abigail and Norah together. Norah’s almost 4 months older than Abigail.

On Sunday I spent most of the day working on the trailer and getting it ready for inspection.

It cost a little more than I expected and I certainly made a lot more trips to Tractor Supply than I expected, but it came out ok. I can’t wait till the winter when I can pull out the welder and really go to town on it. It won’t quite be the overhaul I did on my own trailer the winter of 2000 – 2001 (while we were first dating, Jen would come over and spend evenings after work just watching me weld), but there will be some significant improvements. The crazy thing is I could completely disassemble the thing and put it back however I want (right or wrong) and no new inspection will ever be required in PA. Only the initial one this summer is all it will ever see.

Whatevs.
