Spring Conditions, Variable
We had some free passes left for skiing, so after checking the conditions report this morning
Abigail and I packed our stuff and hit the slopes.
We had a blast.
The snow was soft and the lift lines were non-existent.
We went all over the mountain. Hit all three terrain parks. She “tried” some jumps and rails, and so did I.
The most fun we had was on the “Cross” course. She did very well skiing the berms and bumps.
Of course the big highlight of the day was skiing her first black diamond. I had her following me and took the easier of the two sides (left or right – I went right) to let her get a feel for it, but she went left of her own accord and skied perfectly well down it turning all the way to the bottom. We did it two more times. Each time she took a different line an applied a different style, but each time she was completely in control and loving it.
We’ll have to watch the conditions through the week. Maybe we’ll have a chance to try one of the longer black diamonds next weekend?

ps. Lauren just wasn’t feeling it today. She and Mom stayed home and had fun of their own.
