Croup Coup

Sorry. Haven’t posted in a while. Things have been busy.

Then when I finally do post, it’s this.

Don’t worry. She’s fine.

Woke up around 4:30 (or 3:30 because of the time change) to Abigail not breathing and Jen calling the Dr. Turns out she was breathing, but it was really raspy and difficult. We put her face over a bowl of hot water with a towel to hold in the moisture, then sat her in the bathroom with the shower going full steam. She was shaking and disoriented, but her breathing was getting somewhat better.

Jen decided to take her to the ER and off they went at 5 (or was it 4). I looked up croup, decided it wasn’t the end of the world and tried to go back to sleep. 20 – 30 minutes later Lauren woke up with nearly the same thing. I pulled her into bed, told her to sit up when she had to cough, but otherwise try to relax and get some sleep. That worked to some degree.

Abigail and mom came back around 7 (6?). The girls watched cartoons, while Jen and I slept a few more hours.

I’m half expecting it to happen again tonight. Should probably get to bed early in preparation for it.

They’ve got a humidifier going in their room. Hopefully that makes a difference.
