Father’s Day Weekend
Started the weekend climbing in the Gunks. Craig and I left around lunch time on Friday in hopes of getting a few climbs in that afternoon. Traffic was horrendous, so we didn’t get to climb until almost 6pm. I led Black Fly, then we top roped Nice Crack Climb. Saturday morning I manged to lead Belly Role and Betty before the rain set in and we were shut down for the day. Still being early and with more rain on the way, we decided to head home.
Sunday began with a tree removal project. One of the Osage Orange trees near our driveway decided it was too heavy for the moist soil and recently began to lean significantly over the driveway. That took about two hours and some delicate chain saw/ladder climbing moves to make that not a problem anymore.
After that there was much discussion as to what project was next in priority in regards to the pool – finish the Trex – pressure wash/stain the fence (before the Trex was all laid down) – rebuild/stain the pergola (before the Trex was all laid down) – rebuild/paint the pool shed – glue the coping.
By the time we got it all figured out (finish the Trex) it was too late to get started.
Instead I built a little tree fort for the girls using some of the old pool deck planks.
I did manage to clean some things up in both garages in preparation for soon to be happening pergola work. As soon as swim classes are over more should be happening around the house/yard in the evenings.
