Unexpected Lesson
When following your snowshoeing 5 year old over varied terrain, you’re gonna get cold even if you are pulling your 3 year old behind you in a sled.
Climbing up Cascade behind Abigail wasn’t a problem. There was a enough elevation gain to keep me working and therefor keep me warm.
Descending Cascade wasn’t a problem either. The lower we went, the warmer it got. Plus I had Lauren on my back the whole time. That alone works as another layer.
Following Abigail moving at a snail’s pace in snowshoes wasn’t enough work. I needed another layer.
Not that I’m complaining. I’d gladly do it again. Any opportunity to get her out and try new things is awesome. I just need to plan accordingly for my own comfort.
