Night Climb
Craig and I got out for some climbing at The Narrows tonight.
Pretty damn fun.
We climbed the Main Gully. Soloed the first bulge, then I lead almost all the way up to the head wall. Craig lead the last bulge. The leading wasn’t entirely necessary, but a fall on ice 100′ up can have dire consequences. At the head wall we scrambled around the side to setup a top rope on the 50 – 60′ face.
The weather started warm, but got colder and started to flurry.
The ice was wet and dripping in many places. Made for great sticks of our picks in the soft ice.
Took 5 rappels on a 70m rope to get down. Three of which were easily 100′ in length.
Lots of fun. Can’t wait to go back next week.
