Dry Tooling
Craig and I got out last weekend to try some dry tooling on some local rocks.
Dry tooling is where you climb rocks with your ice tools and crampons. Occasionally (depending on the route and its complexity) this is necessary, so it’s good (and fun) to practice in more controlled conditions.
The route/rock we picked was a really poor choice. It was much harder than anything we’d ever encounter and the rock was crumbly.
Oh well. Still fun just the same.
