New Neighbors?

A couple of weeks ago we noticed a lot of inactivity at the house next door. In general there wasn’t a lot of activity over there considering the owners were in their 80’s. Last I spoke to them in early December things were going fine.

Then we noticed the for sale sign.

We checked things online and sure enough it was for sale.

Big house, big lot, but needs lots of work. The couple in their 80’s had built the house 40 years ago. It was the first in our little neighborhood, then they subdivided all the rest of the lots.

Electric heat, no central air, and nothing updated – it’s going to take a lot of work.

The price was right to move and move fast.

Something I’d expect a flipper or contractor to pick up.

Then we saw what appeared to be the same couple walking around the place a couple of different days. They appeared to have a daughter around the age(s) of ours.

The for sale sign is gone. Online says it was sold.

There’s activity once again in the evenings until 10 and on the weekends. Obviously some work is taking place, but no one’s moved in.

Suppose we should mosey over and say hi.
