Mama Wolf Spider

A month or more ago Abigail and I would go out in the yard after dinner pulling up rocks looking for Wolf Spiders. About that time of year, the mothers can be found carrying their egg sacks.

We were always quite delighted to find some.

At some point Abigail asked what the egg sack was and I explained it was her babies. Once they hatched, she would then carry all her babies around on her back.

Hence why Abigail has to sleep with all her babies piled on top of her each night.

And each night we tell her what a good mama wolf spider she is.

Weird huh?
