Mount Washington Pictures
I didn’t get as many pictures this year and the ones I did get, weren’t all that great. We were moving pretty quick and I didn’t want to run into the finger freezing issues I had last year.
Here’s the mountain from a distance.
Here’s a shot of the group when we got into Tuckerman Ravine. From left to right it’s Buddy, Conrad, and Craig.
Here’s looking up the Right Gully.
This is just a little left of the Right Gully.
Looking south out of Tuckerman Ravine toward Wildcat.
A little self portrait action.
Once we started climbing and heading into the white out, the camera went away for a while. The following (2) shots were taken as we were coming down the Lion’s Head Winter route. There’s a couple of really steep icy sections through the woods. The group in front of us decided to take their crampons off and slide down on their butts. Besides the risk of tearing your really expensive expedition pants, it’s just not a safe way to go as you can see they were struggling.
We on the other hand had Conrad our guide and some rope. He showed us how to set up a quick self belay and made it real quick and easy for us. He said on some weekends you can wait two hours in spots like this for the traffic going up and down all at once.
Here we are on easy street hiking out. Conrad had an awesome EMS brand summit pack. Unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere.
