Snowblower Report
Nearly a week late, but whatever.
On December 26th & 27th it snowed some and the wind blew a lot. We got around 4″ total which drifted to 16″ in some places and nothing in a lot of others.
The snowblower took some getting used to. It’s not easy, and it’s hardly anymore fun than plowing.
I caught a rock and sheared one of the shear bolts early on. It came with replacements and I was back up and running in no time.
Clearing the width of the driveway took 4 or 5 passes. Can’t really remember. Clearing the part down by the garages was just a pain in the ass.
At least Abigail looked cute in her little bunting.
The snow completely covered the solar panels. I haven’t checked the actual data yet, but I’m pretty sure they produced next to nothing. Even on cloudy/rainy days they produce something.
Took 3 or 4 days for it to melt off.
That’s pretty much it. At this point I can’t say there was any real advantage over plowing. Hopefully it snows again now that I have a better understanding of how to use it. Maybe I’ll get a better assesment.
