“Why, Mr. Anderson? Why? Why do you persist?”
CJ was diagnosed with terminal cancer last January. They gave him 4 – 6 months at best.
Eleven months later…
He’s old. He has troubles like an old dog.
Two days ago he couldn’t walk. He could stand, but he couldn’t walk. He had no coordination. His legs wouldn’t do what they were supposed to. They wobbled and sent him crashing to the floor.
We thought “This is it.”
Not quite.
Quick visit to the Vet. and we learn this condition is quite common in old dogs and not likely related to his cancer.
It’s called Old Dog Vestibular disease. It’s a sudden condition of imbalance and/or lack of coordination. It’s also self correcting.
Whew! That’s a relief.
But he’s still very old and still dying. His kidneys are failing and his appetite is gone.
This may not be “it”, but I think we’re close.
