Getting Caught Up
I missed a lot of posts this month. Or more accurately, I missed posting about a lot of events this month.
Saturday, November 6th we went to the annual Thanksgiving With Friends party/pot-luckĀ dinner at our friends house J and Aileen.
We were real excited this year because we could take Abigail. With each passing year the contingent of kids participating in TWFs gets bigger. It’s kind of cool going from a party of a bunch of 20 somethings getting sloshed to 30 something adults making good food and hanging with their kids.
The only problem was Abigail’s bedtime. We usually start the routine around 6, so she’s in bed by 7. The party started at 4, and it’s an hour travel time to or from there.
We didn’t quite meet our schedule, but Abigail did sleep in the car the entire way home. Once at home we were even able to carry her up to her room in her car seat while still asleep. We’d never managed that before.
The visit was short. We saw and talked with the regulars we like, avoided the regulars we don’t, and were glad to leave for those that creeped us out.
As the photos indicate, we did see Miriam again. This was two weeks in a row for the little ones hanging out. That was pretty cool.
In hindsight we should have left the baby with the baby sitter, gone by ourselves and drank like we were 20 somethings instead of worrying the entire time about Abigail’s sleep schedule.
There’s always next year.
