How to Destroy Posts

Management says not enough posts lately, so here’s a post.

2010 marked the release of Trent Reznor’s new project with wife Mariqueen Maandig – How to Destroy Angels.

In the spring they started releasing these little Youtube shorts to get you hooked.

Hooked I was. I couldn’t get enough of the little video rifs.

Mostly electronica noise, it grabbed hold of something instinctual.

I love the slide.

To sit around making music with your spouse and friends must be fantastic.

Then the video hit. Wow. Amazing! Nuts. Perfect.

I love the careless abandon of the other couple. I’m way more interested in her phone conversation and his interest in flat track racing than the fatal domestic altercation between the characters played by Trent and Mariqueen, but maybe that’s the point.

Just recently I got the EP. It’s been on constant rotation ever since. Good stuff. Her voice against Trent’s sounds make a nice juxtaposition.
