Drug Test
Having enough to deal with for our trip between an infant, two dogs and three adults in the car for 10 -12 hours, we decided Gretchen’s travel anxiety wouldn’t be apart of that.
The vet. had given us some “anti-anxiety” meds for Gretchen a few years back, but we never got around to trying them. The dosage says take from 1/2 a pill to 1 and a half an hour before an eight hour trip. That’s a pretty big range, so we’d have to test it before hand.
Today’s the test.
I gave her the smallest dosage (1/2 a pill) an hour ago and it’s definitely taking effect.
She’s awake, but groggy. She can move, but not well. Her legs are shaky and she drags her toes on the floor when she tries to walk. Mostly she’s laying down comfortably. The cat was within two feet of her and Gretchen didn’t budge.
Hopefully this works out well for the drive.
