Upon graduating from Penn
State in the spring of 96 two important things happened. I got a
1969 Jeep CJ-5 and I took it to Bill's cabin in Pine Creek for a
week of
relaxtion.
The
Jeep with it's quick "Buy Me" rattle-can paint
job.
So
it needed some work. That was part of the relaxtion. For most of the
week it was just Bill, me, CJ (the dog), and the
Jeep. What more did we
need?
I'm
really not sure what it was we were working on as I didn't have any
money. I suppose we were mostly tightening
bolts.
This is a very common and uncomfortable
position for a
Jeep.
Once you get into this position, you're pretty
much
stuck.
But
not stuck like this. One of Bill's classmates came up and we took
the Jeep for a spin. I rolled into this "puddle" too slow and that's
as far as we
got.
We
had to walk back down to the bottom of the mt. to drive the truck
back to the cabin to get tow ropes and a hand
winch.
And
that's all it took to get it
out.
And
lots of cheering. Bill's girlfriend Cheryl, at the time, had come up
to the cabin with some of her sorority sisters.
Safe and driving
out.
Finally our week of
relaxtion was through and it was time to tow the Jeep home.
