Right AND Left

Fixed the tractor last night.

Even with the ramps, there wasn’t enough clearance to pull out the steering shaft. I briefly thought about lifting the front and having Jen crawl under there to pull it the rest of the way out, then decided that was a bad idea. Instead I found the last brace the shaft was running through could rotate if I took out the five bolts holding it in place.

Old and new side by side. The gear was obviously worn.

Luckily the gear it engages was ok. I can send that part back.
