Dirt Bike Days

Been trying to get out on the bike as much as possible. Only way to get better is saddle time.

In the beginning of the month, I managed a couple of trips up to Jim Thorpe, but those are tough being that they’re all day affairs.

That’s the abandoned dam in Nesquehoning we can ride into (through the hole at the bottom left) and around.

Lately I’ve been trying some local stuff. Local is tough due to legality. There’s one near Royersford, in an old silt basin, that’s very accessible, but the style of riding isn’t my forte. It’s more motocross stuff (whoops, jumps, banked turns, track kind of stuff). There’s another near Coatesville that is very much my style (tight, twisty, steep, and rocky), but it’s accessibility is questionable.

We’ve actually decided to replace our Wednesday night mt. bike rides with Wednesday night dirt bike rides in Coatesville. I guess the accessibility question will work itself out.

ps. Craig is already onto his second bike. The Honda 250 he bought last fall was a dual sport. He decided to upgrade and buy the trail specific 250. He’s much happier now, but he’s still a little nuts. Maybe Abigail can use that to her advantage?
