The Narrows

Finally made it out to the PA famous “The Narrows” ice climbing destination. Generally it’s too crowded to climb on weekends, so getting away midweek is necessary.

I got out with Buddy, Craig and Paul. Of the routes there, we spent our time in Dead Deer gully.

I paired up with Paul, while Buddy and Craig climbed together. Paul was so excited to get out he forgot his pack when he set off for the top, so I followed up with two packs.

It was crazy cold. The forecast was for the mid-twenties, which I dressed for. But with the wind and being right next to the Delaware river, it was the coldest I think I’ve been.

Overall a good day and great to be outside.
