Power Outage
Lost power about 7:30 Tuesday night.
Was the strangest little storm.
There wasn’t a whole lot of rain or wind while we were in the garage watching it, but in the time we went inside, got caught in the dark in the basement, found flashlights and made it back upstairs everything was blown all over the yard and the power was out for good.
Woke up Wednesday morning – still no power. Fire up the generator. Plug in the fridges and freezer.
Grandma’s power was out too. She took the kids to the mall for most of the day.
Jen and I finally got to work after a fiasco with the electronically magnetized locked doors were pried open.
Came home – still no power.
Went out for the Wednesday night ride – still no power.
Got home at 10:30 and the Peco truck was sitting in front of our driveway with our lights on.
Yay!
Wasn’t too bad, but I definitely prefer losing power in the winter. At least then I can heat.

ps. Jen’s almost on board with upgrading our emergency power situation. It’s not too hard for us to manage, but it is more inconvenient than it could be. All we need is a bigger generator and a transfer switch to run the well, refrigeration devices and a few choice circuits. Power goes out, roll out the generator, fire it up, plug it in, flip the switch and done.
