Day 2 and All’s Well

Heading into day 2 of no power.

So far so good.

News reports are saying it could be the weekend before the power is back on. We’ll probably need more gas if that’s the case.

Of course the really big news around here is that Abigail turned 4 yesterday. In the midst of all that was happening, we managed a nice little party for her.

We even had party dresses and party hats.

Thomas and Friends was the theme of the party.

When the party was over and the girls were napping, I headed outside to work on our escape route.

First time wearing a helmet while working in the yard.

Nothing like the ambiance of dinner around the camp stove and a single table lamp.

Of course the true sign of comfort (or just stubbornness) is the kids continue to run around barefoot.
