Skiing Twice

I’ve taken Abigail skiing twice now.

The first time (last weekend) we concentrated on just getting used to things. We spent most of the day on the “bunny” slope with me running (in ski boots backwards) and Abigail trying to snow plow and keep on her feet as she skied short “bursts” toward me. By the end of the day we managed two runs from the chair lift (using her ski harness). We were off to a good start.

Considering how successful (at least in my mind) the first trip was, we decided to go back as soon as we could.

Though the temps were near 60 yesterday and it rained the majority of the day, we headed up this afternoon (with 40 for the high) after swim class.

Quickly back to where we left off last week, it was time to step things up.

Today we concentrated on stopping and skiing under control. The best way we found to do this was for me to ski backwards (one of the biggest feats of the day I think) while Abigail skied toward me and we played red light/green light with her in control.

Needless to say, it worked amazingly well.
