Contaminated

For whatever random reason we decided to have our well water tested.

Turns out it tested positive for bacteria (though no one’s been sickened by the water) and needs shocking.

Doing some research online I discover wells shouldn’t really get contaminated unless there’s some kind of failure with your well installation (i.e. no grout, cracked casing, leaking cap, etc.).

When cleared away the ivy growing around our well, low and behold I discover…

A hole in the cap.

Hopefully the shock and a new cap fixes it.
