Update on the Girls

Abigail’s ready to come home. She’s being a trooper and making the best of her time at Grandmas, but I can tell she’d rather be home.

Lauren, who appears pretty healthy (besides a random cough, but as I remember Abigail had a random cough throughout her infancy as well), is not sleeping – at all. She’s recently gained the ability to grab things and basically play with them. I’ve read an infants lack of willingness to sleep can be associated with new abilities like rolling over and sitting up. I’d say this new ability to physically reach out and impact her world has got her pretty excited. There might also be a bit of Mommy separation anxiety. As Jen flutters about the house, Lauren’s head is locked on like radar following her from room to room. If she doesn’t reappear in a comfortable amount of time, she gets a little fussy.

Fun times. Hopefully we get through it quickly.
