REI dividend came in this week. I’m such a geek I already placed my order for new stuff and picked it up.

Of course Abigail got the best of it.

A new sleeping bag just for her

I’ve got this whole crazy plan for getting her camping this season. First we’re going to try the bag in the crib one night, then we’ll set up the tent in her room or downstairs, then the tent outside and finally at a campground mid-May.

We’ll see. I’m not so sure any of it will work. She’s kind of particular about sleep (or I think she is when really she’s not). She gets the concept of the sleeping bag, but as with most things dealing with sleep she’s not interested until it’s absolutely time to sleep.

Jen thinks just the opposite. Jen thinks Abigail will want to “camp” every night and every night we’re going to have to disappoint her with no.

I tried to get a self portrait with us both in our bags, but she’s fast and shy and rolled away.

Also got her a climbing harness.

I have to admit this scares me a little. I can think of so many unrealistic ways she can fall or worse fall out of it and get hurt, but the reality is none of that can happen. Worse thing is she absolutely loves climbing the big walls and wants to climb all the time. Just explaining to her what it’s for got her really excited.

Of course if you want true reality in all this, Daddy’s motorcycle boots got just as much attention from her as any of the new stuff.
