Rainy Fall Weekend

Managed to get the grass cut yesterday before the rain started. Spent the rest of the day and into the night getting the garage back to semi-functional. Jen’s car and the truck now fit in there. The Subaru is left out. The truck needed to get back inside. Four months of weather on its 23 year old paint was really taking its toll.

Through the night and most of today it rained.

We did mange to get out to the park briefly.

Abigail had quite the spill on the playground equipment. Somehow (for some reason) she tried to step down from one section to a lower section (she usually just goes up, up, up) and fell. Her fall spun her around onto her butt then landed backwards on her back down the roller slide (giant slide made of rollers). Jen and I stood there screaming as Abigail went down backwards screaming to the bottom (yeah, it was probably as funny as it sounds). Luckily she’s not heavy enough to gain enough momentum to shoot herself off the bottom and Jen made it there in time to pick her up.

Like most falls, she was fine. Worst problem was she was now soaking wet. She basically mopped up all the water on the rollers with her back.

Back at the house I spent the rest of the day painting. All the beadboard in the nursery is done. It might need some touch-ups, but the brunt of that work is done. I also got the top of the beadboard trim sanded and primed.

Who knew you could be so sore from just painting and sanding.
