Deck Dinners

Right or wrong we decided this summer to have dinner on the deck this summer with Abigail.

So what’s wrong with that? Dinner on the deck sounds nice in summer.

Our motive wasn’t atmosphere. Our motive was containment. Abigail was both messy and moving too much to feed in the house (running off to the bedroom, etc.).

Oh sure. We tried keeping her in one place one night. I think she cried/screamed for a solid hour, then sobbed for thirty minutes after that without eating anything.

Deck dinners it was.

Here’s some shots from one such dinner.

Conveniently she decided to take her shirt off.

Then get real close to the camera. See the food on her forehead?

I doubt Suri Cruise gets this many photos.

At least when Abigail’s rich and famous the paparazzi will be old hat for her.

Contrary to her expression, she actually likes that mush quite a lot. We find it odd when most parents we know fall back to things like fish sticks, pretzels, etc. when their kid gives them a hard time eating, ours goes for pureed vegetables.

Strange indeed.
