Vacation Land

Here’s a mix of yesterday and today.

Yesterday morning we went to town to check things out. It’s not much of a town and after the third “buy crap from Maine store”, I’d had about enough.

In the afternoon Abigail finally took a nap and Jen went for a paddle. At first she didn’t think she’d have the energy to get very far, then paddled half the length of the bay.

Last nights dinner was not lobster. We opted for gourmet pizzas from the General Store. They were tasty (their roasted garlic bread is amazing). As was the Stowaway IPA I picked up from Baxter Brewing.

Today we tempted to paddle with the peanut. First Jen took her out for a test run,

which passed, then we took her out for a longer trip with me on a second kayak (owned by the landlords).

Unfortunately there are no pictures from our trip as our little point & shoot has died. But let me tell you, she was cute. Cute and falling asleep! For a kid that never wants to sleep/nap, it was nuts to see her nodding off in the front of the boat. We paddled home to get her to bed, but…

she didn’t wanna. She was totally awake and only wanted to run and play.

She ran all day. She ran to the store, ran up the street and ran through the house. You’d think she was allergic to sleep.

Finally we bribed her with lobster.

She ate and went to bed easily.
