Race Maintenance

Went out to French Creek to do some maintenance on the race course Wednesday night.

From what I hear, it’s a very difficult course. It’s described as riding around and finding every possible hill to climb.

I wouldn’t know. Don’t get to ride much anymore.

Anyway, we had some trees to cut and course routing to figure out. Mark, Jamie and I went on foot with our dogs and did the work. The rest of the group just rode.

The dogs had fun. Gretchen, Violet and Juni (12 week old pup) ran around like a gang of youngsters looking to get into trouble.

After the work (or ride), we met at the lodge for some grilling. There were two charcoal grills and probably 6 coolers of beer and meat. We had hot dogs, burgers, turkey burgers, chicken, sausage, pirogi’s, Doritos and brownies. It was a feast to say the least.

I left around 11. Mark slept on the porch of the lodge. Something I should have done as well. Not for drinking, but such a beautiful night.

Probably do something similar this coming Wednesday.
