Night Weaning Sucks

Not because I’m getting up in the middle of the night – can’t complain about that one. Jen’s been doing multiple times a night since Abigail was born.

What sucks is going in Abigail’s room and she realizes:

1. It’s not Jen
2. I don’t have any milk for her – not even in a bottle

She cries louder when she realizes it’s me. She pecks and pulls at my chest looking for the comfort she’s grown used to receiving.

She calms down, but she doesn’t relax and go back to sleep.

I put her back in the crib awake and slightly sobbing.

She doses off and sleeps the rest of the night.

The payoff is huge, but the effort is hard (as most big payoffs with anything right?).
