Family Visit

I’m so tired.

Between working, chasing two little girls under the age of 2, and teaching a 70 yr old man the limitations of his understanding for computers, I’ve got nothing left.

Then the cat decides to poop in our bed.

Last night we slept under towels as blankets.

So here’s the past few days so far.

Thursday morning Grandaddy gave Abigail a bottle. Can’t remember where Jen was. Maybe she was sleeping?

The rest of Thursday Grandaddy and I spent installing a gate at the top of the stairs. Of course we had plenty of help.

As simple as a gate sounds, the installation was particular. It had to also allow access for the cat, hence the unfinished wood portion on the left.

So far the reviews are mixed as to how much people approve of the gate install. Most important is the gate is secure and the cat has access to her litter box downstairs, though she so far chooses not to use it.

Friday was drapery day. My sister took all kinds of measurements and we bought fabric back in July when she was here. Now it was time to install.

She put up stuff in almost every room.

Here’s Abigail’s purple monkey bedroom.

And our bedroom, which is like a complete cave now with heavy draperies and black-out liners. We should have just pulled the draperies down and slept under them.

While Melissa was doing the install, Vera was helping.

But Vera was also feeding Gretchen leaves.

And trying on my shoes.

Meanwhile my Dad escaped to work on my Honda. Magically it no longer leaks gas from the carbertators – Yay!, but does leak brake fluid from the master cylinder – boo!.

When the girls got too rambunctious in the house, Jen loaded em up and took them for a walk.

Finally this morning there was some peace and quiet. After napping better yesterday, Abigail got back to a five and a half hour sleeping stretch last night. Made for a much nicer morning.

Unfortunately Jen had to work this morning (we’ve both been working too much). The girls didn’t mind. They played happily in the bed with the cat while Jen held her conference call.

Of course a few days with the family wouldn’t be complete without some video.

Here’s Vera crying to the Bumbo. Poor Bumbo.

Abigail got a walker, now she’s going all over the place.
