Nelson Ledges

Still without my FZR, Speedwerks let me take their backup SV to Nelson Ledges in pursuit of my Mid Atlantic regional Championships. Since Dave refused to ever go to Nelson Ledges again in his life, I convinced Jeff to come out and make sure everything went ok.

Jeff also takes lots of cool pictures when he comes out to the track. Here's a shot of me before one of my races.

Here I am gridded up next to Don Kinsey. He was chasing the North East regional championship, while I was going for the Mid Atlantic championship. This weekend was a combined weekend for both regions. Don and I had gotten to be pretty good friends and equal racers. This was the D-Superbike race. I got third and Don got fourth.

Here I am gridded next to Michael Diener. He was leading both the North East and Mid Atlantic regions. He destroyed the competition everywhere he went, though he was really a nice guy. This was the Formula 2 race. I got third.

This was about half way through the race at turn thirteen. I had never been this close to Diener in any race and this was one of his home tracks. I think he was as surprised as me to turn around and see me on his tail soon after this shot. At that point he stepped it up and totally left me behind. Don even passed me before it was all over.
