Christmas Dinner 2003

For Christmas dinner we drove up to Little Ferry, New Jersey to Jen's Aunt Neri's (pronounced Nettie) house.
Here's Jen's mom and uncle Mike having a friendly little talk about politics.  Unfortunately Jen's grandma was
sick with the flu and could not host, so the dinner was moved to Neri's house at the last minute. Despite the
late notice, Neri came through with some delicious paella (rice, sausage, shrimp, chicken and clam dish) and
lasagna.  Grandmas pasteles were dearly missed. Pasteles are too complicated to describe, but are really
really tasty.

Here's the hostess Neri, the infamous Jimmy "The Instigator" and myself.

Once the political conversation was over the rest of the family came back to the table.

On the left is Tom, Sarah's (Jen's cousin) new boyfriend.  This was our first introduction to him.

Here's Sarah on the left, Jen, Jen's cousin Cassandra, and Neri (Cassandra's Mom).

Here's Sarah and Nicki (another of Jen's cousins). Nicki's brother James eluded the camera this evening.

Cassandra's boyfriend's parants came over for dessert. This is her boyfriend's Mom, Aida. They just got a  new
puppy named JJ. JJ is on the right while Cassandras dog Brownie is in the middle.

Tom was telling us how excited he was to see all the diapers at Costco.  I think the exact quote was "I could poop
forever."

Here's Neri and Jimmy.

Jen's Mom giving her best Miss America impression.  Hey there!

Jen and myself.

The drink of choice is usually wine. For some reason this evening led us to vodka with OJ and Grand Marnier - aka
high class screw drivers, though I assure you there was very little class left by the end of the night.

The old one for the road trick. No I was not driving.

So Jimmy convinced me to have 3 or 4 more for the road.

I think I probably had enough for the whole week of road trips.

And that concludes another wonderful night of mayhem at Neri's.
