On the last weekend of February Jen and I met Dave in Alderson, Wv for a little skiing/snowboarding at
SnowShoe Mt., Vv.  For Jen and I it's around a 6 hour drive to Alderson.  For Dave (from Hickory, NC)
it's about 4 hours. The forecast for the weekend was mid 50s during the day and mid 20s at night. It was
perfect weather and conditions for the last winter outing of the season.

SnowShoe, though only 70 miles from Alderson, was a two hour drive.  It's the twistiest, most up and down
drive you'll ever make.  Being a little hung over doesn't help. After a night of catching up with Dave
(i.e.drinking), we didn't get on the road till 10:30 or so.  For future reference, a night of drinking is not
a good idea before you make that 2 hour drive.

After 4 years in the south, you can see Dave is still having a little trouble adjusting.

Dave wanted to show off his Apple iPod.  It's a little personal digital music player.  It uses headphones or
can broadcast over an FM frequency.  The only radio we could find was this 30+ year old thing.  It actually
had short wave, weather and airplane bands.  The back of it and the handle were leather. The old/new
juxtaposition was pretty cool.

Unfortunately I didn't bring anything to carry the camera on the slopes, so this is the only mt. picture we
got.  We skied/snowboarded from 2 till about 7:30.  It was a nice place.  The runs seemed kind of short,
but there were many runs to take.  The terrain parks were pretty fun too.  Dave and I tried some jumps,
rails and a set of stairs they had built into the slope.
