To determine what temperatures my winter
bag is comfortable sleeping in, I decided to start sleeping
outside on really cold nights. The forecast said this night
would get to 10 degrees. I don't think it ever got below 20
degrees in the tent. In the morning it was a balmy 30 degrees
in the tent when I woke up. The thermometer on our front
porch said 12 degrees
outside.

Here's CJ checking it out .

I don't think CJ
expected this. When he came in, I threw an old sleeping bag over him
and made him stay. He didn't seem to happy,
but he didn't get cold either. Because it was so warm in the tent,
the next time I do this I will sleep out on the deck without the
tent. The bag is rated for 0 degrees and I have a liner that's
supposed to add
another 15
degrees.
We shall see.
