While Jen was away in Dallas, I got a call from
her uncle inviting us to her cousin's house for a party Saturday
Sept. 17, 2005. Yeah that's what I said. Anyway, her cousin
(Sam) and his wife (Megan) moved into this place about a year
ago. All I'd heard about it was all the work they've been
doing and the nasty spider infestations. So naturally I was
expecting some run down dump in the woods behind someone's old
slaughterhouse or something.
Was I wrong! It's
a cool little place situated at the north
end of Pinecliff Lake in West Milford, NJ. They're one lot off the lake
in a friendly little neighborhood
with bears. It's a cute green
cabin. ...what color tin roof would put on a
green cabin?

Then there's this whole side building thing. It's got a
garage, a workout room and a rec room of sorts.

Unfortunately I was in no
mood to party. My headcold had gotten considerably worse over night
and left me
miserable on Saturday. Instead of partying I took
some time to check out the sites. Directly across from
their
house was a public dock, so I went out and took some time exposures
of the lake. This was looking
south.

I really got lucky with these
shots. It was dark enough I couldn't see the clouds, but in the time
exposure
they appear and are mirrored in the lake. This was
looking east.

Here's a time exposure of the
front of the rec room from the roof of Megan's car. I really like
the perspective
of the rain drops on the roof of the car to
the soft white glow of the lights on the
porch.

When I got back
from the lake, they
had started a fire in the outdoor fire pit and were making smore's
.
Unfortunately movement doesn't work
so well with time
exposures.
