Sometime in
February my friend Scott suggested a springtime trip to Moab. We
picked a date (last weekend of April), booked flights, reserved a
room and car, and waited for the day. The weekend before we
were supposed to go, Scott wrecked in a race at French Creek and cut
his leg so badly, they couldn't stitch it up. So we went without
him. I had gone
two years ago
and with Scott's itinerary we were in
good shape to make the trip on our own.
The plan was to
fly out Thursday and basically ride our asses off till we had to
come home Sunday. We flew into Salt Lake City, UT, picked up our
rental (more on that later) and made the four hour trip to Moab.
First thing we did in Moab was pick up our (premium) rental
bikes at Poison Spider bike shop, then check into the hotel. By this
time it as about 2:30pm, so we decided to try a little ride. The
famous Slick Rock trail would be our first. Below you will find
links for our various rides in the order we did
them.

Moab is also known for
off-road vehicles. People from all over the country come here to
take their, jeeps, trucks and rock crawlers off road around
Moab. Part of the attraction is what they call the
"slickrock", which isn't slick at all. Most of the area is
surrounded by solidified prehistoric sand dunes, so the terrain
(in some places) and rock has excellent sand stone traction.
Below is just one of the many custom rock crawling rigs you'll
see around
town.

And here's
