The last race
for the season for me was the New Milford race. It's a little north
of Scranton, PA. A lot of people don't really like this
course. It's a short four mile lap, but I don't mind it
much. Dan didn't show up again, but I had a cold. I couldn't
capitalize on his absence.
I have three pictures for this
race. There was some photographer there taking really good pictures,
so I got a bunch. This was about a third of the way through the
lap. It was a short steep climb and the photog sat right at the
top as we turned off the
climb.
This was a little rocky
downhill about half-way through the
lap.
Somewhere near that first
steep climb I flatted on the last lap. I threw in a new tube,
wrapped the old one around me and took off. The only other
contendor that day was Jamie. Lucky for him he wasn't sick
and was way ahead of me. Lucky for me I had enough gap on third to
fix my flat and still
finish
second.
The last race
of the season (I missed) was Bear Creek. Here we clinched third in
the over 10 people team category. And that concluded the
2005 mountainbike race season for me. I finished the season with
a second place in the sport single speed class. Next year I would
make
the move to Elite.
