Jeff & Sara's Wedding
Oct. 27, 2007

Jeff and Sara got married at the Independence Seaport Museum, Penn's Landing Philadephia. They had a Jewish ceremony. The canopy they're standing under is called a huppah (chuppah). Theirs was made from a prayer shawl that Sara's mother owned.

They had four ketubah signers. I was told those who sign are responsible for marriage advice and support. Dictionary.com says something about financial support in the event of a divorce or husbands death. I'm not so sure about that. I do know as Bill and I walked up to do the signing one of the traditional jewish musicians commented that we were not jewish. I guess that gets me off the hook if Jeff does something stupid and they divorce. The non jewishness should have been evident already when Bill was the first to stand as Sara approached the huppah (there's no standing for the bride in traditional jewish weddings).
