Another trip to Dolly Sods...  Without any real map of the area, not only did Dave find Dolly Sods, but he
got real close to finding our secret first night camp site as well.  We didn't find him at 12:30 that night
when we rolled in, but we did find him a few hundred yards up the trail from us the next morning.
Photography credits go to Jeff for this trip.

Close up shot of the dog relaxing before we head out Saturday morning.

This wasn't a real ambitious weekend for us. We hiked about an hour or so from our first site before
we found this lovely site along the Red Creek.  I felt bad for not taking Dave all over Dolly Sods to see all
the cool things, but the rest and relaxation was much needed

The tents set up at our second campsite.  I think I was napping when this was taken. GPS coordinates
are: N 39*01.710 by  W079*20.442

Dave didn't want the Cicadas to get out of control, so he volunteered to put on the offensive as the little
buggers crawled out of the ground. Actually the truth is even more disturbing. He was actually practicing
his chicken butchering technique. Along the trip he decided bringing a live chicken was the best way to go
as far as how well the meat would keep if it were alive. And if you wanted milk, you should bring a goat.
Who knew canned chicken spread would have such a traumatizing affect on someone.

After my nap, we decided to head downstream to check things out.

We had to cross back and forth over the creek many times.

A little rest from all the crossing.

A cool perspective shot from Jeff.

We called this the "do nothing spot."  It was so nice. You could easily hike here for the weekend and do
nothing. GPS coordinates are: N 39*01.227 by W079*21.017

Someone had built these make-shift stone recliners at the do nothing spot, so we had to try them out.

They worked pretty well.

On Sunday after hiking out of Dolly Sods, we drove to Blackwater Falls State park to check out the sites.
This is Blackwater Falls.

This is the Lindy Point observation deck overlooking the Blackwater river down below.

After weeks of working on a deadline, Jeff was determined to spend as little time possible thinking on this
trip. He proved that to himself and the rest of us by not realizing when he grabbed his boots before the
trip, he grabbed two different ones. Luckily they were for opposite feet.
