For Bill's
birthday in October, Jeff and I decided we would plan a
cabin (Bill's parents cabin) weekend for him
to hang out and relax just like the college days. The fact
that he couldn't do the weekend until Jan. 10 is pretty solid
proof that he needed such a weekend. The cabin is located in
Pine Creek, PA. When we got there Friday night, the
outside temperature was -4. The inside was a balmy 22, though we
hit 85 by Saturday night with both the coal stove and wood stove
going.

Bill and Jeff slept in
the main room with the two stoves. Since I slept in one of the side
rooms, I had the
dog for
a
little extra warmth.
Here's Pine Creek
directly behind the cabin. The patches of ice floating down the
river made a hissing noise as they bumped into each other and the
frozen shore. Not far down from the cabin, the river was starting to
jam with ice.
After spending saturday running about, the coal stove went out and needed
restarting.
It didn't take long
for the cabin to heat up again. It hit 85 degrees inside before the end
of the night.
The
nights entertainment was beer
and poker.
With
enough
beer
and poker Jeff became
the entertainment.
Contrary to Jen's doubts we finished the case
of Coronas around 10 pm Saturday night, so we headed out in
search of more entertainment. We ended up in downtown Jersey Shore
(not The Jersey shore. it's a town in Pennsyltucky called Jersey
Shore) at the Tiadagton Inn. Nice little spot.
