So after all the hard work on the house, Jen and
I went to Aruba for vacation. Here's a picture from our balcony.
This is the west coast of Aruba - facing Venezuela. Aruba is an
interesting little island. It's actually a desert. The palm trees
you see have all been imported. It only rains 4 or 5 days a year
- just happened to be the days we were
there.

This is a picture from
the east cost of the island. Where the water is warm and tropical on
the west coast, it's the cold harsh Atlantic on the east coast.
To get to the east coast, you have to rent 4 wheel drive cars.

|
One of the biggest
tourist features on the
east cost is this natural bridge
created
by the waves.
|
|
There's actually a lot
of these natural bridges if you go looking for them. There's also
lots of caves, goats, boulders and cacti.

A shot of the
coastline on the east side.

|
Here's the road that
runs the length of the
east coast. See the desert resemblence?
|
|
This was a really odd
area of boulders
in the middle of
the island.
|
|
I had read about
the boulders in Aruba before we went, so I took some climbing
gear along to play around a little. That's what vacation's for
isn't it?
