After some much needed sleep, we jumped in our
cars, crossed the border and headed for Tournus France.
Tournus
was the town we were staying in and was only about 30 min.
from Givry where the wedding was. We
spent a lot of time at a little cafe
(Salon De The De L'Abbaye) across the street from this house, though
I
never got a picture of the cafe.Tournus is a sleepy
little town located on the La Saone river. The
whole
area and countryside reminded of
places in Virginia. It was very rural and scenic.

cafe was the Place de l'Abbaye built a really really long time ago
(something like 1,000 yrs
ago). This was a mosaic in
the floor behind the pulpit.

had no idea there even was a river until we came across it in
one of our random
wanderings. All of a sudden we were like
Wow a
river!

wasn't nearly as much of a surprise as meeting Rachana and Kekul on
the street in
Tournus.

was the little lobby of the hotel we were staying in. Tournus
basically rolls up the
sidewalks at 9. The front desk
of the hotel even closes after a certain hour, but they let us sit
and enjoy a
bottle of red before turning in.
