Here's the view across the col to the peaks of Colden.  You can barely make out the first one. The second
one is taller and obscured by the clouds.

Here's another view.

I kind of woke up sick that morning. By the time we hiked to the top and back down, I was feeling pretty
miserable.

We were back to the lean-to by 1:30, so we had the rest of the afternoon to sit around and watch the snow
pile up outside the lean-to.

Monday we headed back. This is Marcy Lake again, but a little cloudy and stormy this time.

The Chicadees are real friendly around Marcy Lake. After getting a picture of this guy I put some chewed
up Snickers in my palm and fed a few more.

Here's the view as we were headed out the access road.  You can see the wind blowing over the tops of
the High Peaks.

Lessons Learned

So far all of the winter trips I've been on have been a learning experience. There's nothing mundane about
a winter camping trip.

Cold Medicine If you need it, you'll be very thankful.
Collapsable Water Container It's important to get an early start for any trips you might take while you're out in the woods. With a collapasable water container you can prepare and store water overnight for your trip instead of taking extra time in the morning to do it.
