They had to run all
the way around this lake and up a hill to get to
their bikes.
The course was 13.7
miles long. About a third of the way through you came back through
the starting area and rode this bridge over the path new riders took
to get to
their bikes.
This was called the
"Transition Area". Each rider finishing a lap had to ride into the
tent and check-in before the next rider could run out
under the bridge to their bike.
.
This is where you parked your
bike while you were waiting in the transition area for your lap.
When your rider came in, you ran under the bridge to here,
grabbed your bike and took off.
Here's a picture of me
on my first lap. I did three laps. The first was around
3pm. The second was around 10pm and the third was at
6am. That's a total of 41.1 miles. Everyone on our team did
three laps except
Rob who did four.
Ben and Ryan came up to the condo around
9pm to heat up some lazagna. They both had done two laps by this
time.
After their lazagna,
Ben and Ryan drove me back to their campsite so I could be closer to
the transition
area for my lap.
Here's Chris rolling in from
one of his night laps. Ben and Chris did five laps for the
Magical Fruit. Ryan
and Mark got only four laps
in.
Jerry telling us about the adventures
of his night lap.
