There
were two choices to make things
fit. We could either chisel out the piece that was unexpectedly installed, or rip
out the space in our stool so it would fit over the piece that
was there. Having a table saw, I decided the ripping was the
better
route.

The ripping required
two slices. Here
I'm making the second cut
to cover the width of the window
base.

Now our stools would fit over top the stool
that was installed with a thin
veneer.

It was the end of the first week in November
when I finally got around to installing one of the stools. Once the
stool goes in, the casing can go up. I got one window mostly done
(it's missing the apron), but didn't have enough
energy/concentration to do any more so
the project was put on hold for a
while.

Jan.
16th, 2009 I finally got back to the
windows.
In a single day I got the stools
and casings up for the remaining three windows. It took roughly two hours per
window. Now all that's left are the aprons, which I glued and let
dry over night
for installation today.

Add the apron and the windows are finished!

With the windows done, it was time to
start/finish the base molding in the kitchen and spare bedroom.
